Contents and Field
One of civil engineering's goals is to extend civil infrastructures' service life. Therefore, the development of civil structural health monitoring and evaluation technology has been highly demanded. The Advanced Sensing and Evaluation Project Team researches and develops novel optical fibre sensing and stress wave technology to monitor and evaluate civil structural health. Advanced sensing technologies of this project team are as follows:
/ FBG Optical Fibre Sensing by means of Time Division Multiplexing - Multi-sensors (up to 100 per channel) & Quasi-Dynamic monitoring up to 2 kHz -
/ Advanced civil structural monitoring and evaluation by means of stress waves.

Long term and 3-D large scale health monitoring and evaluation are realized by using these advanced technologies.
